Hello 1st grade families!
Hello! I am so jazzed to finally get the class blog back up and running. Sorry for the delay:)
Please feel free to comment on the videos or photos that are posted, knowing that they are seen by other readers. Helping your kiddo post is also a great way to teach them another form of writing! I will try to post a video or set of photos every week. Have fun and enjoy!

Shape and Concrete Poetry
This week and next we will be exploring the genre of POETRY! We are learning that to create poems that are vivid and clear, we want to use as many of our senses as possible. Our senses are: taste, touch, smell, hear, and see. One type of poetry that we have learned about is Shape or Concrete Poetry. You can create your own Shape Poetry at http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/shape/. Clink on the link to go there now!

Adios!
On Monday I began teaching a bit of conversational Spanish. Room 4 comes through the door greeting me with a traditional Spanish greeting and leaves the room trying their new skill of saying goodbye in Spanish. Above you will find our class saying goodbye for the day in one or two of the four ways we have learned. This is only the beginning... We are still learning :)
